Fighting sexual harassment in the workplace

We’re committed to fighting sexual harassment in the workplace.

Our sexual harassment policy makes it clear that unwanted verbal, visual and physical conduct of a sexual nature is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

Brought in following new legislation in October 2024, the policy set out our commitment to preventing and addressing sexual harassment of our employees.

It applies to all employees, contractors, volunteers and anyone else connected to Heidelberg Materials in a professional capacity. It covers harassment in the workplace, at work-related events and online.

The policy defines sexual harassment and provides details reporting procedures, the investigation process and disciplinary action.

It confirms that we provide sexual harassment awareness training for all our employees in accordance with UK employment legislation and ACAS best practice.

The policy also provides details of victim support including our free 24-hour confidential employee helpline, mental health first aiders and occupational health assessments.
