Social impact report 2024: making a material difference
In 2024 we generated almost £150 million worth of social value impact in the UK – demonstrating the difference we make to the communities in which we operate.
This year, we have moved to the Thrive social value measurement tool and reporting software, which is underpinned by the Impact Evaluation Standard, to strengthen how we measure and communicate the value we create.
“The Thrive platform allows us to capture social impact in a more consistent and transparent way,” said Sustainability Director Marian Garfield.
“This gives us deeper insight into the outcomes of our work and helps us tell a clearer story about the difference we make.”
Our 2024 social impact report covers the social, environmental and economic value we generated for society between January and December 2024. This includes everything from the economic benefits to HMRC, and the creation and protection of habitat, to reducing carbon emissions and improving the wellbeing of our stakeholders through activities such as charitable donations, training and qualifications and community visits.
Among the highlights reported are:
- 2,104 volunteering hours recorded
- 183 mental health first aiders trained
- £200,000+ of charitable donations
- Over £1 billion spent with small and medium enterprises
