New asphalt pavers will help cut carbon emissions

We are the first laying contractor in the UK to invest in the new Cat AP400 wheeled asphalt pavers, which will reduce carbon emissions and enhance productivity.

Delivery of the first of our three new machines will be made to the central region this month, with the remaining two being rolled out in other regions later this summer.

The AP400 pavers, which are being supplied through Finning UK & Ireland, reduce fuel consumption by 10 per cent compared to our existing ones, cutting carbon emissions and marking another step towards achieving our 2030 sustainability commitments.

Scott Szafranski, National Asset Manager, said: “This investment was driven by the promised fuel efficiencies, but the pavers also have the potential to enhance productivity due to their manoeuvrability, agility and wide paving range.

“They can surface a 2.4 metre to 4.8 metre width and are less than 2.5 metres wide and 14 tonnes in weight to transport, making them suitable for both small and mid-sized sites.”

The pavers will be supported with a five-year warranty and customer value agreement (CVA) with Finning, which will offer proactive maintenance and support, as well as access to Cat certified parts, reducing down-time and providing peace of mind against unexpected bills.
