3D printed concrete installation and unique evoZero sculpture to be unveiled at Clerkenwell Design Week
We’re making our Clerkenwell Design Week debut with creative installations and samples at our flagship evoHub exhibition centre to showcase the use of concrete as a versatile material choice for architectural design.
We’re opening the doors to evoHub at Techspace on Goswell Road, EC1 for the duration of the three-day festival between 19 to 21 May 2026, hosting a range of architectural installations, seminars, CPDs and networking opportunities for those at the forefront of design and specification.
Central to our showroom programme is a specially commissioned, original sculpture by London-based sculptor, Ashley Cluer, made from evoZero – the world’s first near-zero carbon captured cement.
The piece, titled ‘It’s a conversation starter’, highlights the role of carbon capture and storage (CCS) in revolutionising the manufacture of cement and providing architects and designers with a solution for reducing the carbon footprint of their projects.
Visitors to the evoHub will have the opportunity to learn more about our leading CCS projects and develop their knowledge and expertise in sustainable construction at dedicated seminars and CPD sessions throughout the festival.
Also on show is a portion of a large-scale modular 3D printed concrete installation, which is currently on its way to the UK from Milan, where the full structure was showcased at Milan Design Week. The structure is made of 3D printed concrete, using evoZero cement, as well as plastic and wood, and will be located at Techspace.
The innovative 3D printing technology behind the installation is being used in Europe to speed up construction and reduce material usage and waste, while enabling a high degree of freedom in design for commercial and residential buildings.
Andy Murphy, UK Group Commercial Director, Heidelberg Materials UK, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate lower carbon materials to architects, designers and specifiers, and we look forward to welcoming those across the design sector to our evoHub during Clerkenwell Design Week.”
Other products on show include our ColourCrete range of coloured ready-mixed concrete, which gives architects and specifiers the opportunity to bring striking colour to concrete designs, helping their projects stand out from the crowd or blend in with surroundings.
