Despite logistical challenges and strict site restrictions, all works were completed to a high standard and within the required timeframe.

Project description:
The housing development in Warminster, undertaken by Bancumm Surfacing in collaboration with Persimmon Homes and Avtar, commenced in May 2024 and is scheduled for completion within three years. Heidelberg Materials supplied 300 tonnes of AC32 dense base and AC20 dense binder from our Tytherington plant to support this project.

Due to the scale and complexity of the works, the contractor was required to split the operational gang across two separate sites in one day. The first delivery was hand laid at Bath Road, Warminster, while machine laying simultaneously began at Victoria Road, Warminster. Timely delivery was critical due to strict site restrictions, and Heidelberg Materials ensured all wagons arrived as scheduled.

Following the successful completion of works at Victoria Road, the contractor had to transport heavy plant equipment to the next site. Our reliable delivery schedule shown via the Onsite app enabled the team to continue operations without delay, meeting the requirements of both sites.

Beckie Hughes, Buyer and Plant Manager, at Bancumm Surfacing Ltd commented:
“We appointed Heidelberg Materials as our preferred supplier for a complex project we had to execute across two sites in one day by one gang. With over 300 tonnes of binder and road base to lay, we had to split the gang. It was imperative that all loads were on time as we had site restrictions in place.

Once we completed works at Victoria Road, Warminster we had to transport all our heavy plant from site to site. On arrival your wagons were running to schedule enabling us to continue working to the site restrictions we had in place.

In conclusion, both projects were completed to a high standard, using great quality material and it was reassuring that we can rely on a trusted supplier to make the works a success.”
